The installed package client secrets from Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement customers on Stack 8 will expire today.
Why only them?
It turns out that on September 29th Salesforce has added this table
| Cohort | MCE Stacks | Enforcement Date |
| R0 minus select high API volume customers | S8 | Sep 30, 2026 |
| R1 minus select high API volume customers | S4, S50 , S401, S406 | Oct 1, 2026 |
| R2 minus select high API volume customers | S11, S12, S13, S402, S403 | Oct 5, 2026 |
| R3 plus select high API volume customers | S1, S5, S6, S7, S10, S51 | Oct 6, 2026 |
to their Marketing Cloud Engagement Secret Expiration and Time-To-Live (TTL) article.
What does this mean?
If you’re among the lucky ones, extra times will have appeared on the installed packages in your account.
I noticed this today when I was activating new secrets and noticed that those that weren’t yet activated, didn’t show that the client secret expires in X hours left (or 0 days left), but was showing a new expiration in 6 days.
Some extra time is always nice, but I thought the morning coffee didn’t start working yet when I saw that, so I double checked the installed packages if this was no display error.
Lo and behold, the settings clearly show a new date:Secret Expiration: 10/6/2026, 11:59:59 PM
Thank you, Salesforce, this indeed does help.
